Osteoarthritis

5 ml of Mahanarayan Oil (as recommended in the dosage section below) should be taken with milk twice a day. A week of therapy with it provides relief from the joint pain and grating sensation, lowers joint tenderness and stiffness, and improves flexibility of the joints. Many ayurvedic doctors only use Mahanarayan Oil for the massage of affected joints with osteoarthritis, but it gives significant improvement in pain and joint flexibility when taken internally.

Patients considering knee replacement should try Mahanarayan Oil before making a major decision because it balances Vata, which is thought to be the cause of cartilage loss or wear and tear in osteoarthritis. Mahanarayan Oil also improves synovial fluid and has protective effects against cartilage wear and tear.

Dosage & Administration

  • 2.5 milliliters (1/2 teaspoon) for children
  • Adults: 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters)
  • 20 milliliters per day, divided, is the maximum dosage possible.
