Homeopathy Medicine for Stomatitis
Stomatitis, which can affect the cheeks, gums, tongue, lips, palate, or anywhere else in the mouth, is a general term for an inflamed and painful mouth that can impair a person’s ability to eat, speak, or sleep.
There are several varieties of this stomatitis:pathos, catarrhal, ulcerative, herpetic, parasitic, or thrush are some examples.
Types
Stomatitis primarily comes in two forms:
Canker sore
Canker sores, which are also referred to as aphthous ulcers and are a component of the most typical cause of stomatitis, typically appear on the inside of the lips or cheek.
The inside of the lips, cheeks, or tongue are the most common locations for canker sores to appear singly or in clusters.
Acute, transient pain is caused by canker sores, which can last up to 6 weeks in more severe cases (which make up about 1 in 10 of all cases of stomatitis). Minor cases, which are the most common, result in ulcers that heal in 4–14 days.
Cold sores
Herpes stomatitis, also known as cold sores, is a condition brought on by the herpes virus (HSV) that typically affects the lips or the area around them close to the edge of the mouth.
Before the sore forms, there may be tenderness, tingling, or burning, and cold sores dry up and crust over with a yellowish scab.
Cold sores are extremely contagious, frequently recur, and typically last for 5-7 days.
Depending on the part of the mouth that is affected, stomatitis can be divided into several categories:
- Lip and mouth inflammation is known as cheilitis.
- Tongue swelling is known as glossitis.
- The gums become inflamed with gingivitis.
- The back of the mouth is inflamed in pharyngitis.
CAUSES OF STOMATITIS
Stomatitis often results from an injury, an infection, an allergy, or a skin condition, but it can also be brought on by a number of other factors that may coexist at the same time.
Stomatitis can develop if you bite the inside of your cheek or lip.
The following are the main causes:
- trauma brought on by improperly fitting braces or dentures, surgery, and cheek, tongue, or lip biting
- Chemotherapy treatment for cancer
- Herpes virus is a type of viral infection
- thrush, a type of yeast infection
- any illness connected to dry mouth, or xerostomia
- Smoking or chewing tobacco

SYMPTOMS OF STOMATITIS
Each person may experience different symptoms of stomatitis, including pain, stinging, and soreness.

- Red patches
- Blisters
- Swelling
- Burning in the mouth is known as oral dysaesthesia.
- Lesions that typically recur after healing for 4–14 days
HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT FOR STOMATITIS
Use sterile gauze or a very soft toothbrush to rub off the white patches and apply a mixture and paste of glycerin with borax powder for its antiseptic effect. Patients must be asked to observe strict cleanliness with regard to the oral cavity after every meal or after eating. This will prevent the formation of white patches. Typically mothers tend to reef the baby with the leftover milk in the feeding bottle after a while. This habit should be discouraged.
