Homeopathy Medicine for Heartburn

A burning pain in the chest that usually gets worse after eating, in the evening, when lying down, or when bending over is known as heartburn. It is located just behind the breastbone.

The majority of people can control the discomfort of heartburn on their own with dietary changes and over-the-counter medications. Occasional heartburn is common and not cause for concern.

A more serious condition that calls for medical attention could be indicated by heartburn that is more frequent or disrupts daily activities.

SYMPTOMS OF HEARTBURN

Symptoms of heartburn include:

  • burning chest pain that sometimes happens at night and usually happens after eating
  • Whenever I sit or bend over, my pain gets worse
  • a mouth taste that is acidic or bitter

CAUSES OF HEARTBURN

When stomach acid backs up into the esophagus, the result is heartburn. The esophagus is the tube that carries food from our mouths to our stomachs.

The lower esophageal sphincter, a band of muscle at the base of the esophagus, normally relaxes during swallowing to let food and liquids pass into the stomach before contracting once more.

Acid reflux, or stomach acid flowing back up into our esophagus, can occur if the lower esophageal sphincter relaxes abnormally or becomes weak, and it may be worse when we are hunched over or lying down.

Complications

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which can seriously damage your esophagus or result in precancerous changes in the esophagus known as Barrett’s esophagus, is characterized by persistent heartburn that interferes with your daily activities. GERD treatment may require prescription medications and, occasionally, surgery or other procedures.
