HOMOEOPATHY FOR ECTOPIC PREGNANCY

416

A fertilized egg, which normally attaches to the lining of the uterus, is the first step in a pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy happens when the fertilized egg implants somewhere other than the main cavity of the uterus.

It is possible for an ectopic pregnancy to develop in the abdominal cavity, ovary, or neck of the uterus (cervix), but this is less common. Ectopic pregnancies, also referred to as tubal pregnancies, most frequently occur in one of the tubes that carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus (fallopian tubes).

The pregnancy cannot develop normally due to the ectopic location, the fertilized egg cannot survive, and the expanding tissue may damage certain maternal structures if left untreated.

Future healthy pregnancies may be preserved with early ectopic pregnancy treatment.

CausesThe most frequent type of ectopic pregnancy is called a tubal pregnancy, which occurs when a fertilized egg becomes stuck on its way to the uterus.

Symptoms–Ectopic pregnancies can present with the same early signs and symptoms as regular pregnancies, such as a missed period, breast tenderness, and nausea, or they can present with none at all.

Even though an ectopic pregnancy cannot proceed normally, the result of a pregnancy test will be positive.

The first signs of an ectopic pregnancy are frequently light vaginal bleeding and abdominal or pelvic pain; if blood leaks from the fallopian tube, it’s also possible to experience shoulder pain or an urge to urinate; and if the fallopian tube ruptures, heavy abdominal bleeding is likely, followed by lightheadedness, fainting, and shock.

Risk factors-Ectopic pregnancies can occur up to 20 times per 1,000 live births, and a number of factors have been linked to them, including:

Previous ectopic pregnancy. You are more likely to experience another ectopic pregnancy if you have already had one.

Inflammation or infection. The risk of ectopic pregnancy is increased by infections, usually gonorrhea or chlamydia, that affect the uterus, fallopian tubes, or ovaries (pelvic inflammatory disease) or cause inflammation of the fallopian tubes (salpingitis).

Fertility issues.According to some studies, ectopic pregnancies and fertility issues, including the use of fertility medications, are related.

Structural concerns. If your fallopian tube is abnormally shaped, it was damaged during surgery, or it was otherwise compromised, you are more likely to experience an ectopic pregnancy. Even fallopian tube reconstruction surgery can increase your risk of experiencing an ectopic pregnancy.

Contraceptive choice. It’s uncommon to become pregnant while using an intrauterine device (IUD), but if it does, it’s more likely to be ectopic. The same is true for pregnancy following tubal ligation, a permanent birth control procedure also known as “having your tubes tied.”

Smoking. An ectopic pregnancy is more likely when you smoke cigarettes right before getting pregnant, and the risk gets higher the more you smoke.

Having an ectopic pregnancy carries a number of risks, including the possibility of a ruptured fallopian tube rupturing and causing potentially fatal bleeding if left untreated.

HOMOEOPATHIC REMEDIES

The management of ectopic pregnancy can be successfully accomplished with carefully chosen homoeopathic remedies, some of the most significant of which are listed below.

CHAMOMILLA 30-Chamomilla is great for ectopic pregnancies with gripping pain behind the navel and pain in the small of the back, intolerable pain that drives doctors and nurses away before calling again, a flatulent abdomen, bowels full of a flatulent abdomen, and anger as a defining characteristic.

BELLADONNA 30Belladonna is another effective treatment for ectopic pregnancy. It relieves severe pain, bowel cramps that feel like they are being held in place by a hand, abdominal pressure that makes the pain worse, bloating that is exacerbated by jarring, and discomfort.

COLOCYNTHIS 30-Colocynthis is also great for ectopic pregnancies, which are characterized by agonizing, cutting abdominal pain that makes the patient bend over twice and press on the abdomen, as well as boring ovarian pain and great restlessness.

NUX VOMICA 30Nux vomica is the best treatment for ectopic pregnancy with bruised soreness in the abdomen, intermittent gripping of the bowels, sore bowels made worse by coughing and stepping, and frequent but ineffective urging for stool.
