Homeopathy Medicine for Acute Tonsillitis

74

When a child complains of a sore throat, severe pain when swallowing, enlarged cervical glands, a heavily furred tongue, and mild rigors, the condition is known as acute tonsillitis.

Strepcoccus haemolyticus is the most common pathogenic organism, although streptococcus aures or streptococcus viridance may also be the exciting causes. Tonsillitis is frequently a precursor of a number of severe constitutional diseases such as scarlet fever, measles, rheumatic fever, acute nephritis, septicaemia, or acute mastoiditis.

SYMPTOMS OF ACUTE TONSILLITIS

Children between the ages of six and mid-teens are most frequently affected by tonsillitis, which has a number of common signs and symptoms.

  • Red, swollen tonsils
  • Tonsils may have a yellow, white, or reddish coating.
  • Sore throat
  • Difficult or painful swallowing
  • Fever
  • the neck’s lymph nodes, which are enlarged and tender
  • a voice that is throaty, raspy, or scratchy
  • Bad breath
  • Stomachache
  • neck stiffness or pain
  • Headache

Tonsillitis symptoms in young children who cannot express their feelings include:

  • difficulty swallowing or discomfort that causes drooling
  • Refusal to eat
  • Unusual fussiness

CAUSES OF ACUTE TONSILLITIS

Common viruses are most frequently to blame for tonsillitis, but bacterial infections can also be to blame.

Streptococcus pyogenes (group A streptococcus), the bacterium that causes strep throat, is the bacteria most frequently responsible for tonsillitis, though other strep strains and other bacteria may also be responsible.

RISK FACTORS OF ACUTE TONSILLITIS

Tonsillitis risk factors are as follows:

  • Young age..

Frequent exposure to germs.

COMPLICATIONS OF ACUTE TONSILLITIS

Numerous or persistent tonsillitis (chronic tonsillitis) can result in tonsil inflammation or swelling, which can lead to complications like:

  • Obstructive sleep apnea, or interrupted breathing while sleeping
  • Tonsillar cellulitis is an infection that deeply infects the tissue around it.
  • Peritonsillar abscess: An infection that causes a pus-filled mass behind the tonsil

Strep infection

Children who have tonsillitis brought on by group A streptococcus or another strain of the streptococcal bacteria are more likely to develop rare disorders like:

  • A serious inflammatory disease known as rheumatic fever that can harm the skin, joints, heart, and nervous system
  • Scarlet fever complications, a severe rash-accompanied streptococcal infection,
  • Poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis, an inflammation of the kidney
  • An inflammatory condition that affects the joints is post-streptococcal reactive arthritis.

PREVENTION OF ACUTE TONSILLITIS

  • After using the restroom and before consuming food, especially, wash his or her hands thoroughly and often.
  • Keep utensils, water bottles, food, and drink from being shared.
  • After receiving a tonsillitis diagnosis, change your toothbrush.

HOMEOPATHIC TREATMENT OF ACUTE TONSILLITIS

A throat swab should be used to identify the infection, and the patient should be advised to stay in bed and be given a liberal diet as in the case of a febrile condition. The diet should be such that swallowing should be comfortable for the patient. Echinacea angustifolia tincture should be given, along with a few drops of warm water to gargle with. As an alternative, dissolve an asprin in warm water to gargle with. This will ease the patient’s throat pain
