Homeopathy Medicine for Anorectal Abscess

110

A pus-filled area between the anus and the rectum is known as an anorectal abscess.

Pus accumulates within the internal sphincter and gradually makes its way between the internal sphincter and conjoined longitudinal muscle before coming superficially to the perianal region. The majority of these abscesses are caused by acute inflammation of the anal gland.

The patient in this case complains of acute pain by the side of the anus, which is worse during defecation, and on examination, there is a tender, brownish, indurated swelling that is felt and seen superficially to the ischiorectal fossa on one side of the anus.

CAUSES OF ANORECTAL ABSCESS/ PERIANAL ABSCESS

Anal abscesses can be brought on by a clogged anal gland, a STI, or an infected anal fissure. Other risk factors include:

  • Inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis make the body attack healthy tissue.
  • Diabetes
  • AIDS or HIV-related diseases that have weakened one’s immune system
  • Anal sex increases both men’s and women’s risk of developing anal abscesses.
  • use of other steroids or the drug prednisone
  • Current or recent chemotherapy
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea

Anal fissures, which are tears in the anal sphincter, may occur in children who have a history of constipation in toddlers or young children, and these children are also more likely to later develop anal abscesses.

SYMPTOMS OF ANORECTAL ABSCESS/ PERIANAL ABSCESS

One of the most frequent and immediately apparent signs of an anal abscess is probably throbbing, constant pain in the anal area, which is frequently accompanied by swelling in the anal area and worsening pain during bowel movements.

Anal abscesses can also manifest as other symptoms, such as:

  • constipation
  • rectal discharge or bleeding
  • the anus’s surrounding skin may swell or become tender.
  • fatigue

As a result of the infection, some people may experience rectal bleeding, urinary symptoms like difficulty urinating, fever and chills, or a nodule or lump that is red, swollen, and tender at the rim of the anus.

In those with inflammatory bowel diseases, anal abscesses may also develop deeper in the rectum, which can cause some pain or discomfort there.

A lump or nodule may also be visible or felt around the anal area, but typically there aren’t many symptoms in toddlers other than signs of discomfort or pain that may make a child irritable.
