Mahashankh Vati is an Ayurvedic medicine effective for piles, indigestion, gastritis, and other conditions; however, because it contains aconite and other heavy metals, it should only be used under strict medical supervision.

Mahashankh Vati’s ingredients

  • Lavana Romaka
  • Vine Lavana – Vine salt
  • Sal ordinaire, Samudra Lavana
  • Lavana-Sochal salt from Sauvarchala
  • Rock salt, or Saindhava Lavana
  • A foetida called Hingu
  • Bhasma of the conch shell, Shankha Bhasma
  • Tamarindus indica, also known as the chincha, is a fruit.
  • Shunti: Zingiber officinalis, Ginger Rhizome
  • Maricha, piper nigrum, and black pepper
  • Long pepper fruit known as pippali, or Piper longum
  • Sulfur that has been purified and processed: Vali-Gandhaka
  • Rasa: Mercury purified with herbs
  • Aconitum ferox that has been purified, Shuddha Vatsanabha
  • Lead Wort (root), Shikhi, Chitraka, and Plumbago zeylanica
  • Achyarnthes aspera, Saikharika, and Apamarga
  • Amlavarga: gooseberry and tamarind
  • Lemon juice with nimbu

DOSAGE

Take one or two tablets (150 mg) before or after meals, or as recommended by an ayurvedic physician, once or twice daily.

Maladies caused by Mahashankh Vati

  • It contains aconite, and if taken in excess, it can lower heart rate and cause hypotension (low blood pressure).
  • It should only be used under strict medical supervision because it contains heavy metal ingredients.
  • Children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers should all avoid taking this medication.
  • Take this medication exactly as directed for the specified amount of time.
  • Poisonous adverse effects may result from overdosage.
  • Save in a dry, cool environment.
  • Maintain a distance from children’s eyes and reach.
