Hemoptysis, also known as airway bleeding, is the coughing up of blood or blood-stained mucus from the bronchi, larynx, trachea, or lungs. It can be brought on by lung cancer, infections like tuberculosis, bronchitis, or pneumonia, as well as by some cardiovascular conditions.

CAUSES OF HEMOPTYSIS

  • Acute or chronic bronchitis may be present for a brief period of time.
  • Lung cancer
  • Especially as a result of cystic fibrosis, damaged airways (bronchiectasis)
  • Pneumonia
  • Tuberculosis
  • respiratory condition known as COPD

Other causes include:

Hemoptysis vs. Similar Conditions

  • Hemoptysiscauses bright red or pink, foamy sputum (the substance you cough up).

HOMOEOPATHIC TREATMENT FOR HEMOPTYSIS

ACALYPHA INDICA :Giving when blood is PURE BRIGHT-RED IN THE MORNING OR DARK AND CLOTTED IN THE EVENING. Recommended when spitting of blood, brought on by violent dry cough. Useful for Obstinate cases of arterial hemorrhage with burning in the chest, which is accompanied by emaciation, slow fever, and small, depressed pulse.

ACONITE :Useful for hemoptysis with a feeling of fulness and burning pain in the chest. There is a burning sensation under the sternum that is followed by a burning sensation in the chest. There is agony, restlessness, fear, and a fear of dying.

ANTIM CRUDE :helpful for hemoptysis that occurred after bathing. Coughing causes chest pain and burning.

ANTIM TART :When blood spitting occurs after an attack that lasts a long time, there is bloody, slimy expectoration, and the coughing up of bloody, foaming sputum is frequent.ARGENTUM NITRICUM :Giving when there is a struggle to vomit while coughing. Giving when sputa is more or less streaked with blood. Useful for hemoptysis with occasionally bloody sputa during belching.

ARNICA :Giving when there is bleeding that is profuse, dark-red, and clotted blood coming with little effort. Helpful for mechanical injuries & overstraining constant tickling cough, starting in larynx or under sternum.

ARSENIC ALBUM :Useful for hemoptysis with a deep, dry, never-ending cough caused by laryngeal titillation. Also helpful for extreme prostration after blood loss.
