HOMEOPATHY FOR CARDIOMYOPATHY

107

Heart failure can result from cardiomyopathy, a condition that affects the heart’s ability to pump blood to the body’s other organs.

Types

Types of cardiomyopathies include:

·Dilated cardiomyopathy. The left ventricle, the heart’s primary pumping chamber, enlarges (dilates) in this type of cardiomyopathy and is unable to efficiently pump blood out of the heart.

The most common cause of this type of heart disease is coronary artery disease or heart attacks, but it can also be caused by genetic defects. Although it can affect people of all ages, it most frequently affects middle-aged people and is more likely to affect men.

·Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This type primarily affects the muscle of the left ventricle and results in abnormal thickening of the heart muscle, which makes the heart work more difficultly.

Most people who have this type of cardiomyopathy have a family history of the condition, and some genetic mutations have been linked to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy can develop at any age, but the condition tends to be more severe if it starts in childhood.

·Restrictive cardiomyopathy. This least common form of cardiomyopathy can affect people of any age, but older people are most frequently affected. In this type, the heart muscle stiffens and loses flexibility, making it unable to expand and fill with blood in between heartbeats.

Unknown causes of restrictive cardiomyopathy can also result from conditions that affect the heart in other parts of the body, such as amyloidosis.

·Arrythmogenicright ventricular dysplasia. This uncommon form of cardiomyopathy, which is frequently brought on by genetic mutations, results in scar tissue replacing the right ventricle’s muscle, which can cause rhythm problems.

·Unclassified cardiomyopathy. This category includes additional cardiomyopathies.

Symptoms

When cardiomyopathy first develops, there may not be any signs or symptoms, but as the condition worsens, various signs and symptoms, such as:

Lack of breath while exercising or even just sitting still.

Ankle, foot, and leg swelling

Abdominal bloating brought on by an accumulation of fluid.

· Cough while lying down

Having trouble falling asleep flat.

· Fatigue

Feelings of a pounding, fluttering, or rapid heartbeat

· Chest discomfort or pressure

· Dizziness, lightheadedness and fainting

If left untreated, signs and symptoms frequently deteriorate; in some individuals, this may happen quickly; in others, it may take a while.

Causes

Although the exact cause of cardiomyopathy is unknown, certain medical conditions or behaviors can contribute to it, including:

· Long-term high blood pressure

Listen to heart attack-related tissue damage

· Long-term rapid heart rate

· Heart valve problems

· Covid-19 infection

A few infections, particularly those that cause heart inflammation

Metabolic conditions like diabetes, thyroid disease, or obesity

Inadequate intake of vital nutrients like thiamin or other vitamins in the diet

· Pregnancy complications

Heart muscle iron accumulation

Sarcoidosis is a condition that causes inflammatory cells or tiny lumps to develop in any part of the body, including the heart and lungs.

Protein accumulation in the organs that is abnormal

· Connective tissue disorders

Years of binge drinking excessive alcohol

Coke, amphetamines, or anabolic steroids use

Cancer treatment using radiation and some chemotherapy drugs

HOMOEOPATHY MEDICINES

When it comes to cardiomyopathy, there are many effective medicines available in homoeopathy, but the selection depends on the individuality of the patient, taking the mental and physical health into consideration. Homoeopathy is a growing system that is being practiced all over the world. Its strength lies in its evident effectiveness as it takes a holistic approach towards the sick individual through promotion of inner balance at mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical levels.

ADONIS VERNALIS

Heart disease is characterized by low vitality, a weak heart, a slow, weak pulse, mitral or aortic regurgitation, precordial pain, palpitations, dyspnea, irregular cardiac action, constriction, and vertigo, as well as rapid and irregular pulse. Heart medications act on heart muscles, where the muscles are in stage of fatty degeneration, regulating the pulse and increasing the power of heart contractions, with increased urinary secretions.

CACTUS GRANDIFLORUS

Heart constriction that feels like an iron band is around it, intense heart pain and stitches, a weak herat and an irregular, quick, feeble pulse.

COVALLARIA MAJALIS

When the ventricles are excessively enlarged and dilatation starts, when compensatory hypertrophy is absent, and when venous stasis is obvious, a heart remedy that boosts the heart’s energy and makes it more regular may be used.

DIGITALIS PURPUREA

The sensation that the heart would stop beating if she moved, the weakening and quickening of the pulse with even the smallest movements, the hypertrophy and dilatation of the myocardium, and the weakness and dilatation of the myocardium all point to heart failure. This is particularly true when atrial fibrillation has developed.

GELSEMIUM SEMPERVIRENS

Fear that one’s heart will stop beating if they are not moving; palpitations; a feeling that one must be moving in order for one’s heart to continue beating; a pulse that is slow when still but rapidly accelerates when moving.

IBERIS AMARA

Controls vascular excitement in hypertrophy with thickening of the heart’s walls. Palpitation with vertigo and choking in the throat. Violent palpitation caused by the smallest amount of exertion, or by laughing, or by coughing. Wakes with palpitation at around 2 am. Tachycardia. Pulse full, irregular, and intermittent. Darting pain through heart.

KALMIA LATIFOLIA

Palpitations that get worse when leaning forward, tachycardia with pain that makes it difficult to breathe, shooting pain through the chest, above the heart, and into the shoulder blade, and a weak, slow pulse that, in small doses, speeds up the heart’s activity. The heart’s action is turbulent, rapid, and visible.

NAJA TRIPUDIENS

Dragging and anxiety in the precordia, a feeling of weight on the chest, angina pains that extend to the left shoulder and arm along with anxiety and a fear of dying, simple hypertrophy of the heart, hypertrophy of the heart with valvular affections, irregular heartbeat, and a pounding sensation.

SPIGELIA

Angina pectoris, with a desire for hot water to relieve the pain, frequent attacks of palpitations, especially with foul odor coming from the mouth, violent palpitations, precordial pain that is greatly aggravated by movement, dyspnea, and a requirement to lie on the right side with the head raised.

SPONGIA TOSTA

Awakened unexpectedly at night with pain and suffocation, is flushed, hot, and terrified to death. Hypertrophy of the heart, especially the right one, with asthmatic symptoms. Surging of blood into the chest, as if it would force out upwards. Rapid and violent palpitations with dyspnea; cannot lie down; also feels best as a result of being in a horizontal position.
