Homeopathy Medicine for Neuralgia

The term “neuralgia” refers to a condition in which there is an intense burning or stabbing pain, frequently felt as if it is shooting along the affected nerve, that is brought on by irritation of or damage to a nerve.

CAUSES OF NEURALGIA

Depending on the cause of the nerve irritation, various types of neuralgia can develop.

Pain is typically felt in the area of the body supplied by the irritated nerve and can be brought on by a number of conditions, such as tooth decay, eye strain, or shingles (an infection brought on by the herpes zoster virus).

Causes of Neuralgia

  • Certain medications, chemical irritants, chronic renal failure, diabetes, infections like shingles, syphilis, and Lyme disease, porphyria, pressure from nearby structures (such as tumors), swelling and irritability (inflammation), and trauma (including surgery) can all cause nerve irritation.
  • Trigeminal neuralgia, the most prevalent type of neuralgia, frequently has an unknown cause.
  • The gloss pharyngeal nerve, which gives the throat sensation, is impacted by a similar but uncommon neuralgia.
  • Although it can happen to people of any age, neuralgia is most frequently seen in the elderly.

Trigeminal neuralgia

  • The largest of the twelve nerves in the cranium, the trigeminal nerve, which controls the movement of the jaw with one of its three branches, is compressed, resulting in trigeminal neuralgia (TN), a painful condition.
  • Trigeminal neuralgia is a painful condition that typically results from abnormalities at the inner nerve fibers that carry the sensation. One of the main causes of trigeminal neuralgia is the erosion of the nerve sheath, which is actually a loss of the myelin covering of the nerve.
  • Most of the conventional treatments approach TN in a manner similar to treating sciatica because the trigeminal nerve is comparable to other sensory nerves like the sciatic nerve in the spinal region and the pain brought on by compression can be as excruciating as sciatica.
  • The holistic approach of all alternative therapies proves to be a useful tool in treatment in the case of such symptoms and diseases. The homoeopathic approach to TN is to treat the overall symptoms and to strengthen the body so that it can heal itself. There is no specific remedy available for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia in homoeopathy.

SYMPTOMS OF NEURALGIA
