Homeopathy Medicine for Pyuria
Pyuriais a white blood cell condition that affects the urinary system. Urine testing can detect this condition.
A white blood cell count of at least 10 per cubic millimeter of urine, which frequently indicates infection, is required to diagnose pyuria. In contrast, persistent white cell counts without bacterial infection are present in sterile pyuria.
Pyuria refers to having white blood cells or pus cells in the urine. Women are at a greater risk for pyuria than men.
The most frequent reason for pyuria is a urinary tract infection (UTI).
Additional reasons for pyuria might be:
- sterile pyuria, in which there may be UTI symptoms but no bacteria have been found in the urine
- chlamydia, gonorrhea, genital herpes, human papillomavirus infection, syphilis, trichomonas, mycoplasma, and HIV are examples of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
- Adenovirus, BK polyomavirus, and cytomegalovirus are examples of viral infections
- interstitial cystitis
- painful bladder syndrome
- pelvic infections
- intra-abdominal infections
- radiation cystitis
- urological tract foreign objects
- transvaginal mesh
- urinary fistulas
- intrinsic renal diseases
- renal transplant rejection
- polycystic kidney disease
- kidney stones
- fungal infections
- autoimmune conditions like Kawasaki disease
The following medicines can also result in pyuria when taken on a long-term basis:
- antibiotics with penicillin
- ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications
- proton pump inhibitors
A UTI can cause the following symptoms:
- frequent urination
- blood in the urine
- cloudy urine
- burning sensations during urination
There are some symptoms of pyuria that are not related to a UTI that you might observe:
- bladder pain
- vomiting or nausea may indicate kidney issues.
- cloudy urine
- abdominal pain
- fever and chills
An annual urine test is crucial to identify any potential problems because some cases of pyuria don’t result in symptoms.
Since most cases of pyuria are brought on by an infection of some kind, untreated infections can result in blood poisoning and organ failure, untreated UTIs can result in permanent kidney damage, and severe cases of pyuria can be fatal if left untreated.
In some cases, treating pyuria with an antibiotic may make the condition worse. This is likely due to the fact that many of the symptoms of pyuria are actually attributed to inflammation and not bacterial infection. receiving an incorrect diagnosis can sometimes make treatment more difficult.
Pyuria in pregnancy
A routine uranalysis may reveal pyuria in a pregnant woman; while this can be alarming, pyuria is actually common during pregnancy and can result from excessive vaginal discharge. If the test reveals pyuria, a doctor will need to determine the cause to recommend the best course of treatment. While vaginal discharge may contaminate urinalysis results, it’s important to ensure one don’t have a UTI or another type of infection.
Usually, pyuria in pregnant women isn’t a problem, but if misdiagnosed or untreated, it could put both the mother and the unborn child at risk for additional health issues. Severe pyuria linked to an untreated UTI may result in premature birth or low birth weight in a full-term baby.
