About Adrenalinum

Epinephrin, also known as adrenalin, is the active component of the suprarenal gland’s medulla and is used as a chemical messenger to control bodily functions; in fact, its presence is necessary for the sympathetic nerve to function. Adrenalin’s action on any part of the body is equivalent to stimulating the area’s sympathetic nerve endings, and because of its quick oxidation, it is essentially harmless.

Adrenalinum is an effective treatment for sluggishness; there is a feeling of constriction, particularly in the stomach and intestines; the pulse is slow; the eye, uterus, and vaginal muscles contract; the sinuses become congested; and it is helpful for hay fever.

Uses

Its primary therapeutic use depends on its vaso-constriction (constriction of blood vessels) action, making it a very potent and quick astringent (cause contraction of tissues) and haemostatic (stops internal bleeding). It is also very helpful in checking capillary haemorrhages from all parts, where local or direct application is feasible: nose, ear, mouth, throat, larynx, stomach, rectum, uterus, bladder.

Externally, it has been used in neuritis, neuralgia, reflex pains, gout, rheumatism, as an ointment, and 1-2 m. of (1: 1,000) solution for hay fever, ethmoid and sphenoid sinus congestion, as well as to significantly relieve these conditions with a warm spray of Adrenalin chloride.

The symptom guiding to this is, Sensation of thoracic constriction with anguish. Adrenalin has been suggested therapeutically in acute lung congestion, Asthma, Grave’s and Addison’s diseases, arterio-sclerosis, chronic aortitis, angina pectoris, haemophilia chlorosis, hay fever, serum rashes, acute urticaria, etc.
