Homeopathy Medicine for Belching

71

Although excessive belching or flatus, which is characterized by bloating, pain, or swelling of the abdomen (distention), is common and normal, it can occasionally cause embarrassment or interfere with daily activities.

Belching, also known as burping, is our body’s way of expelling extra air from our upper digestive tract. Most belching is brought on by swallowing too much air, which most frequently never even reaches the stomach but builds up in the esophagus. When belching, gas, or bloating interferes with our daily activities, there may be something wrong.

Some people swallow air as a nervous habit even when they are not eating or drinking, others swallow air unconsciously as a result of eating or drinking too quickly, talking while eating, chewing gum, sucking on hard candies, drinking carbonated beverages, or smoking.

When GERD or acid reflux promotes increased swallowing, it can occasionally result in excessive belching.

The bacterium Helicobacter pylori, which is the cause of some stomach ulcers, may also cause chronic belching if it infects the stomach lining or if it causes other symptoms like nausea and vomiting.

heartburn or abdominal pain.
