  • elbow discomfort in the area behind it
  • swelling right where the elbow’s bony prominence is located3
  • Elbow motion is only partially ranged

Infected elbow bursitis, also known as septic bursitis, affects 20% of people with elbow bursitis, and the symptoms of this condition include the following:

  • Fever
  • Chills or sweats
  • the elbow’s back is swollen in a red manner.
  • The skin around the swollen area has been scraped or cut.

Causes of Olecranon Bursitis

Those who rest their elbows on hard surfaces run the risk of aggravating the condition and highlighting the swelling. Elbow bursitis can develop after a traumatic accident, such as falling on the back of the elbow.

People with systemic inflammatory conditions, such as gout and rheumatoid arthritis, have a higher risk of developing infected elbow bursitis.
