Bacillinum Burnett (Bacillinum)

Many chronic non-tubercular diseases are positively impacted by Bacillinum, especially when bronchorrhoea and dyspnea are present. Respiratory pyorrhoea. The patient expectorates less. Tuberculosis. Bacillinum has been used successfully in the treatment of tuberculosis; its positive effects seen in the change of the sputum, which becomes decreased, more aerated, and less purulent.

Suffocative catarrh, tubercular meningitis, favors the removal of dental tartar, and a persistent propensity to catch a cold are among the conditions for which bacillinum is particularly indicated.

Head:

• Depressed, irritable, and experiencing a severe headache that feels like a tight hoop.
• Ringworm.

Abdomen:

• abdominal discomfort, groin enlargement, and mesentery tumors
• diarrhea that came on suddenly before breakfast.
• annoying flatulence and obstinate constipation.

Respiratory:

Note: Bacillinum is truly indicated (Cartier) because it frequently relieves lung congestion, opening the door for other treatments for tuberculosis. This muco-purulent expectoration of bronchitic patients is equally poly-bacillary; it is a mixture of various species.

Skin:

• Pityriasis; ringworm.
• eyeslid eczema.
• Neck glands are tender and enlarged.

Modalities:

• Even worse are the cold morning and evening hours.

Relationship:

• Arsenic iod, Lach, Antimon iod, and Myosotis.
• As an inter-current with significant debility, levico, 5–10 drops, follows (Burnett).

Complementary:

• Kali carb; calcium phos.

Compare:

Its effects appear to be the same as Koch’s Tuberculinum, and both are helpful in the early stages of tubercular disease of the glands, joints, skin, and bones. Psorinum. Seems to be its chronic equivalent. Bacillin testium acts particularly on the lower half of the body.

Dose:

The dose is crucial; it shouldn’t be given below the thirty-fifth and shouldn’t be given frequently; one dose per week is typically enough to cause a reaction. It is quick to act, and if you see good results, there is no need for repetition.
