HOMOEOPATHY FOR WHEAT ALLERGY

112

When a person with a wheat allergy comes into contact with wheat, their body perceives it as a threat and releases antibodies to attack it. This immune response can cause many symptoms, some of which are potentially life-threatening. Wheat allergies are caused by your immune system reacting abnormally to any of the proteins present in wheat.

Wheat allergy is frequently mistaken for celiac disease, but the two conditions are distinct, have different symptoms, and are diagnosed differently. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that results in an abnormal immune response to gluten, a protein found in wheat, which may not result in immediate symptoms but damages the intestines over time.

Causes

You can become allergic to any of the four classes of wheat proteins — albumin, globulin, gliadin, and gluten — and exposure to a wheat protein will prime your immune system for an allergic reaction if you already have one.

Sources of wheat proteins

Wheat proteins can be found in many prepared foods, as well as some cosmetics, bath products, and play dough. Some sources of wheat proteins are obvious, like bread, but all wheat proteins, and gluten in particular, can be found in many of these as well.

· Breads and bread crumbs

· Cakes and muffins

· Cookies

· Breakfast cereals

· Pasta

· Couscous

· Farina

· Semolina

  • Spelt
  • Crackers
  • Hydrolyzed vegetable protein
  • Soy sauce
  • hot dogs and cold cuts are examples of meat products.
  • products made from milk, like ice cream
  • Natural flavorings
  • Gelatinized starch
  • Modified food starch
  • Vegetable gum

The recommended wheat-free diet is less restrictive than a gluten-free diet, unless you have an allergy to grains other than wheat. If you have a wheat allergy, it’s possible that you also have an allergy to barley, oats, and rye.

Wheat-dependent, exercise-induced anaphylaxis

Exercise-induced changes in your body either start an allergic reaction or exacerbate an immune system response to a wheat protein, causing symptoms in some people with wheat allergies only if they exercise within a few hours of eating wheat. This condition typically causes life-threatening anaphylaxis.

Symptoms

Immediately following ingesting something containing wheat, a child or adult with a wheat allergy is likely to experience the following signs and symptoms:

Mouth- or throat-related edema, itchiness, or irritation

Skin swelling, an itchy rash, or hives

· Nasal congestion

· Headache

· Difficulty breathing

· Cramps, nausea or vomiting

· Diarrhea

· Anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis, a potentially fatal reaction associated with some people’s wheat allergies, may result and include the following in addition to other wheat allergy symptoms and signs:

• Chest discomfort or swelling

· Chest pain or tightness

· Severe difficulty breathing

· Trouble swallowing

· Pale, blue skin color

· Dizziness or fainting

Risk factors

You may be more likely to develop a wheat allergy if certain conditions exist:

·Family history. If your parents suffer from hay fever or other allergies, like food allergies, you are more likely to develop allergies to wheat or other foods.

·Age.Most children outgrow wheat allergy by the age of 16, but adults can develop it, frequently as a result of a cross-sensitivity to grass pollen, since babies and toddlers have immune and digestive systems that are still developing.

HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINES

When it comes to wheat allergy, homoeopathy has many effective medicines available, but the choice depends on the individuality of the patient, taking mental and physical health into account. Homoeopathy is currently a rapidly growing system that is being used throughout the world. Its strength lies in its evident effectiveness as it takes a holistic approach towards the sick individual through promotion of inner balance at mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical levels
